Clinica Medica Familiar - After
by Calvin Lee

AFTER:

Redesigned Pharmacy poster coral and blue colors

Redesigned Pharmacy poster in tan and yellow ochre tones

AFTER design elements:

I wanted to design a poster that would grab attention with color and images. I started with images of prescription drugs, as a focal point. Leading your eyes outward, then down to the copy. I designed 2 versions, English/Spanish. I separated the 2 versions by different colors.

I think, the challenge was not going too crazy with the design and colors. Since, it's a hospital, I had to keep it a little more conservative. I picked colors that would draw attention but also have muted colors to balance it out. I used different shapes to give it some movement. In the end, I think, I came up with something that works.

A three-column grid allows the type to flow more smoothly and to give more flexibility as well as more interest to the page layout.

Alina's Feedback:

Cal's redesigns of the pharmaceutical posters bring a positive change to the previous designs. Through his use of bright, friendly colors, lively diagonals and starburst shapes, he not only draws the viewer into the poster, eliciting their interest, but he also presents the pharmacy as something that is friendlier and less scary to the patient. They can't help but give the patient a shot of energy, interest and information vitally needed and important to the consumer. The message is much clearer, simplified and better defined... thus more accessible.
