Seattle 2007 Questionnaire
For the second year running, the Seattle Attendees filled out a questionnaire shortly after meeting. We’ve known each other for years, so it’s surprising just how difficult it is to fill these out.
This year two sweeties-who-shall-not-be-named stayed up until the wee hours compiling the answers.
And the winners are…
Who is the intellect? Tied for first place is Chicky, Clint, Danita and Robert (in absentia, of FSD.) Of course, one very observant voter questioned the question itself, saying, “In this group?”
Who is the comedian? Winner with most votes is Jeff Fisher (of the “Ed and Jeff Comedy Troupe.”) Clint (Ruth’s husband), and your favorite Canadian printer and mine, Matt Beazley (in absentia) tied for second.
Who is the quiet one? For the second year running, the winner is Alina, with the forum “Hostess with the Most-ess” Judy coming in second.
Who is the Energizer Bunny? Winner is - by far! - Danita. Cat came in second, with Conor (of Hands-On Hosting) and Tamar tied for third.
Who is the party animal? Second year running (and managing to win without even being there), Dawn picks up the most votes for “Party Animal.” Brenda (aka DizzySizzler) and Danita tied for second.
Who is the Sweetheart? Everyone there was a sweetheart! But, as there had to be a winner, coming in first place is the beautiful Alina, with the lovely Ruth coming in a close second.
Who is the tallest? Winning by a landslide, in a nearly-unanimous vote, the vote for “tallest” goes to Mr. Mount Rainier himself, Bill!
Who is the shortest? It was slightly closer, but winning 10 votes to 4, Tamar out-shorted Judy!
Who is the best dressed? Draped in a plethora of luxurious fabrics, the lovely Ms. Cat wins best-dressed, 13 votes to 3.
Who is the most relaxed? With numerous people tying for second, the winner of “Most Relaxed” goes to the Talented Mr. Fisher…Jeff Fisher.
Who is all business? With several people tying for second (including Neil T. and Ronnie Lebow, who weren’t even there!), first place goes to Celia and Judy.
Who is all pleasure? Danita wins, with the comment “Have you seen the bar?” And coming in second place are “The Babeland Babes.” If you don’t know, don’t ask. They won’t tell.
Who is the organizer? By a landslide (and with a whopping 15 votes), the winner is Danita.
Who is the most opinionated? In a tie (and with a demand for a recount!), this title goes to Chicky and Tamar.
Who is the chatterbox? The winner is Celia, with Tamar and Chicky coming in a very close second and third, respectively.
Who is the most reliable? Danita wins “Most Reliable,” with a 7-way tie for second place (and again, Neil T. gets a vote in absentia!)
Who is the most honest? Tying for first place are Cat and Chicky…with a 6-way tie for second place (including votes for Digizan and Ronnie Lebow.)
Who is the most technically challenged? Tied for first place is Alina and Mike Simon (Eva’s - from Hands-on Hosting - husband.) In a stunning turn of events - or possibly in an act of pure revenge - someone voted Conor Treacy of Hands-On Hosting as most technically challenged. However, as you’ll soon see, he was redeemed.
Who is the most technically savvy? Coming in a very appropriate first place, the title of “Most Technically Savvy” goes to none other than Hands-On guru, Conor Treacy. And proving that names can be deceiving, coming in second is the elusive WebChicky.
Who is the most considerate? The honor of “Most Considerate” goes to the lovely Ms. Alina. Bill, Celia and Sarah all tie for second place.
Who is the most trustworthy? Coming in first is Celia, with Cat and Danita tying for a close second.
Who is the diva? Tying for first place are the lovely duo of Ms. Alina and Ms. Cat. In a strange turn of events, everyone’s favorite Media Ho Jr., Cal, comes in second - without even being there!
Who is the sexiest female? With votes almost too close to call, the winner is Alina, with Cat and Ruth tying (or is it “vying”?) for second.
Who is the sexiest male? For some reason, this was the least answered question…however, the winner was Danita’s “oh-so-cute!” son, Sol, with Clint (Ruth’s husband), Matt (in absentia - dude, you get around!), Ed, Jeff, Jason and Steve all tying (again, or is it “vying”?) for second.
Who looks least like their forum photo? Given that Chicky only came in second for not looking like her *headdesking* animated gif, it’s quite the accomplishment to come in first place. And that coveted title goes to Tamar!
Who has the best smile? Tying for first place are Ed (of the “Ed and Jeff Comedy Troupe”) and Ruth. Coming in second place are Alina, Dana and Conor (of Hands-On Hosting), - but don’t let him fool you…his is bought and paid for!
Who has the cheekiest grin? “Best Smile” Co-Winner Ed was also voted the winner of “Cheekiest Grin.” Cat and Sue tied for second, (but honestly, we just think they were up to something.)
Who would you choose to be stranded on a desert island? Not sure if this was for the people we wanted to be stranded with on a desert island, or exiled to a desert island, the winner is “All of them.” We suggest coming to your own conclusions on that one! However, second place goes to Cat, and one of the more interesting votes goes to Danita, because “she’d organize our stay.”
Who would you trust with your life? Again, the winner is “All of them,” which really is weird, as we were all essentially strangers…but Alina and Cat tied for second, and Chris T. (from Gonink) got a vote in absentia, because “he’s used to saving people.”
Who would you like to get to know better? Proving that not ALL designers are creative, the winning vote getter is, once again, “Everyone.” At least a few people kept their creative thinking-caps on and voted Chicky and Tamar in second and third places, respectively.
What is the best moment of the trip so far? Given that this was unfairly asked at the beginning of the day, the winner was (big surprise!) “Meeting Everyone,” with “Today’s Lunch” coming in a close second. However, there was one response that caught our attention, and deserves honorary mention: Buying Big Undies. And yes, we have pictures for those who need visual aids.
Who was the biggest surprise to you, and why? The winner for being the Biggest Surprise is, surprisingly, Tamar, who received such responses as “she’s supposed to be blond,” “I thought her hair was longer,” and “didn’t know she’d be so much fun!” Coming in second place is the Surprise herself, Chicky - with responses like “I didn’t know she’d be here,” and “she’s supposed to be short.”
And here are some questions asked by those there:
In a question that needed a dictionary to be understood, one Seattle ‘07 attendee asks, “Who will be pilloried in the forum very soon?” (pillory def: 1 : to set in a pillory as punishment 2 : to expose to public contempt, ridicule, or scorn) The answer was “Matt.” Hmmmm…
And in a question that has yet to be answered, an attendee asked, “Who most needs the ‘Get out of Hell Free’ card?” Those of you in Seattle, YOU be the judge!
And last, but certainly not least, in a question that really answers itself, a concerned Seattle ‘07 attendee asked, “Why did the guys (Matt, Chris, Ronnie) chicken out?” To which we can only reply, “because they’re chickens.”
And that concludes this edition of the Seattle Meet-up Awards. Stay tuned for next year, when another group of graphic design professionals (and unprofessionals!) descend upon lovely Seattle, wreaking havoc for yet another weekend…
