In a Baja State of Mind
12 Septermber 2005
Travel and lifestyle photographer Tom Hopkins is on his way to Baja. Tom and his crew (assistant Rich and hair and makeup artist Val) will meet up with their LA-based model Brenda in San Diego and drive south to experience all of the flavors of the Baja Peninsula. After a week of, uh, hard work (or so he tells us), the crew will head back with new images for BorderLine magazine, as well as material to update his portfolio and website with. In a tradition he established over a decade ago, Tom takes off with a crew whenever his schedule will allow and wanderlust calls, bringing back a pictorial catalog of culture, fashion, feeling and frenzy.
This trip will bring them to the small town of Tecate (think beer), and coastal surfing communities including Ensenada. Prior trips brought Tom and his crew to Big Bend, Texas (on the Mexican border), Montréal, Paris, the south of France, Costa Rica and Charleston, South Carolina. His journeys include places that are rustic, passionate, adventurous, eclectic and dreamy. Tom’s motto is: “We have the sense of timing top catch the sunset, the sense of humor to wade through the downpour, and the good sense to keep it all in perspective.”
