The 2005 HOW Design Conference will be held June 11-14 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. This annual creativity, business and technology conference for graphic designers will feature 50+ speakers and more than 50 sessions and workshops.
The 2005 Conference program again includes a Masters Series, with sessions presented by illustrator Marshall Arisman, packaging designer Leslie Evans, art director Jeff Kleinsmith, Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain, School of Visual Arts professorRichard Wilde, and Pentagram partners Abbott Miller and DJ Stout.
Other speakers include House Industries’ Ken Barber on customizing conventional type, Swedish designer Jakob Trollbäck on the social and emotional relevance of design and creative thinking coach Tom Monahan on becoming a consistently innovative thinker.
Attendees can choose from more than 40 sessions in six tracks: Creativity, Design Disciplines, Business & Career, Digital Design, In-House and Design Technology.The Conference will also feature special sessions presented by PRINT magazine. Optional Events include pre-Conference workshops on hand-lettered typography, digital camera tricks, design in a team environment, and personality typing; a networking lunch; and Chicago Studio Tours with stops at VSA Partners, Segura Inc. and more. The Conference will also host a Design Resource Center with exhibits featuring paper, stock photography, computer hardware and software, and other resources for designers.
More than 2,500 graphic designers, art directors, creative directors and illustrators are expected to participate in the 2005 Conference.
