Living Children Multimedia wins at Flash
Forward 2004 - Eric Bort
Living Children Multimedia
picked up its first major award (Education Category) on March
4th at the 2004 San Francisco Flash Forward Film Festival.
The awarded project, Virtual Knee Surgery, raised a decent
amount of noise from the film festival crowd as the movie
trailer of bone saws, scalpels, and femoral jigs played on
the big screen.
After
the winner was announced, Living Children owner and Creative
Director Eric Bort shook hands with the two founders of the
Flash Forward festivals, and was handed a five-pound orange
rubber mouse pointer to commemorate the glorious evening.
After the event, present members of Living Children Multimedia
hurried back to their hotel room to catch the latest episode
of 'The Apprentice' as undoubtedly all small business owners
were doing the same.
Who needs bandwidth?
Due to the extensive amount of visitors brought on by various
awards, the www.livingchildren.com
average daily visitors went from 62 per day to an incomprehensible
5000+ eating through a whopping four gigabytes of bandwidth
per day.
The
client, COSI (Center of Science and Industry) got the great
news that within one month of launch, more than 250,000 people
had visited the Virtual Knee Surgery site.
In addition to the Flash Film Festival Award...
The Virtual Knee Surgery activities have also won the coveted
Macromedia Site of the Day award, the How Design TOP 10 site
of the month award (along with a mention in the member newsletter),
as well as the Electric Rain Featured Site of the Month award,
article and case study.
