Von Glitschka, of Glitschka Studios, as announced the launch of the Three Thumbs Up Award as a means to reward individuals artist who demonstrates creativity and the artistic pursuit of excellence on a consistent basis.

“We want to encourage and facilitate the pursuit of great art and reward it when we can. It's that simple,” said Glitschka. He continued, “The 'Three Thumbs Up Award' is our way of giving props and kudos to the ones who create and facilitate art that makes us wish we had an extra thumb to raise.”

The award is geared towards the Creative Arts community and all the various subcultures within it - Illustration, Design (Print or Web), Icon Design (Print or GUI), Photography, 3D Modeling, Animation, etc. Entries can be a personal project, rough sketches or final pieces of art.

Judging criteria is as follows:

Thumb 1 - Creativity: Their work shows a depth of originality or unique conceptual thinking and style that captivates the viewer and fosters visual wonderment.

Thumb 2 - Inspirability: Their work sparks the creative fire and motivates others to pursue their passion and strive for artistic excellence in their own artwork and projects.

Thumb 3 - Proclivity: Their work shows a consistent and proven track record of creative and inspiring artwork on a regular basis.

Recent winners include Creative Latitude, the NO!SPEC crusade and Designers who blog.
