Western Sky Communications
is a winner in the 2006 Cactus Quills Competition. The Cactus
Quills are sponsored by the Tucson Chapter of the International
Association of Business Communicators.
Unlike many competitions,
the Cactus Quills are not a beauty contest. Each entry must
include a project description with goals
and objectives, and a measurement of the project's effectiveness.
My
entry focused on the monthly postcards that I sent during 2005.
As a measurement of effectiveness, I calculated the percentage
of design studio income that came from people on my in-house
list. During 2005, that figure was almost 80 percent.
