John Wingard Design
Wins Regional Advertising Awards
Hawaii designer John Wingard has won two Awards of Excellence
in the Hawaii Advertising Federation's PELE Awards.
The first
award came for the 2006 Liliha Calendar, celebrating the unique community of Liliha and featuring images of world-renowned
National Geographic photographer Paul Chesley.
Paul Chesley has been a National Geographic Society
freelance photographer for over 20 years. His photos have
been published
in Fortune, Time, Life and the Smithsonian. Exhibitions of
his work have been held in Honolulu, Tokyo, London and New
York.
"The incredible photographs in the calendar, not only
highlight the magnificent scenery, but also capture special
moments
of its people like the smiles of kids outside a shaved ice shop
or the rattle and hum of satisfied diners in a bakery," Wingard
said.
The
second award was for Kamaka Ukulele's marketing materials
which feature elegant design and lush images fom Bud Muth
Photography. Very fitting for these instruments of renowned
craftsmanship and astonishing
tone.
